Air Canada flight 596 , smell of smoke

Air Canada flight AC-596 , Airbus A319 from Las Vegas to Montreal it was approaching airport 5nm from Montreal when the crew reported a smell of smoke inside cockpit.The crew advised the tower and landed safely with emergency services stand by

 

On 29 November 2013 the Canadian TSB reported that the Airbus 319 (C-FYIY) While the aircraft was 5nm from CYUL, the crew received an indication ANTI ICE WINDOW L and L WINDSHIELD ANTI ICE together with a smell of smoke in the cockpit. The crew declared an emergency and the aircraft landed safely with emergency services stand by. Maintenance replaced the left sliding window , electrical harnesses in the left window and the computer circuit heating the left windscreen . The aircraft was returned to service.
