American Airlines flight AA-1189 , Boeing 737-800 from Dallas Fort/Worth airport to Vancouver it was descending to Vancouver when the crew reported a stabilizer trim issue and declared an emergency.Airplane landed safely on runway 26L

 

On 2 December 2013 the Canadian TSB reported that American Airlines flight 1189, a Boeing 737-800 (US registration N982AN), en route from Dallas Fort Worth, declared an emergency during descent to Vancouver, BC, due to an electrical stabilizer trim problem. The flight landed without further incident. Maintenance replaced the stabilizer trim motor (Eaton, manufacturer's part number 6355B001-03). AS per engineering change order (ECO) J1587, improved stabilizer trim motors are being installed fleet wide but had not yet been accomplished on this aircraft.
