Jazz flight QK-8705 , de Havilland DHC-8-300 registration C-GEWQ from Sept-Iles to Quebec took off from Sept airport and was in the initial climb when the crew reported that engine number 1 suffered a failure.The crew declared an emergency and diverted back to airport for a safe landing

 

On 3 December 2013 the Canadian TSB reported that the de Havilland DHC-8-300, registration C-GEWQ, operated by Jazz Aviation LP as flight JZA705, was taking-off from Sept-Iles (CYZV), when the crew experienced an uncommanded auto-feather on #1 engine (PW123) during rotation. The crew carried out the applicable emergency checklist and declared an emergency to return to Sept-Iles where an uneventful landing was carried out. Maintenance replaced #1 engine TSCU, ECU, torque probe, replaced propeller assembly and performed engine overtorque inspection.
