Kenn Borek Air de Havilland DHC-6 Twinn Otter 300 registration C-GKBC from South Pole Amundsen Scott Station to Terra Nova Bay , Antarctica with 3 crew members crashed into a steep snow mountain slope at 3900m/13000.All 3 crew members were killed

Airplane was operation a reposition flight from South Pole station to Terra Nova Bay

 

At the time of accident it was extreme weather conditions , with clouds to completely cover the area ,heavy snow and strong winds.The search and rescue teams it was able to approach the crash site only after 3 days

 

On 23 June 2014 the Canadian TSB released their final report about the accident.You can read full here
